Every shot in Compose can have multiple . Different generations of the same shot.A shot is the directorial unit. It lives in the Production Tree, has its own essentials (size, framing, angle, action), holds its own cast in frame. A frame is one rendered version of that shot. Generate the shot once, you get Frame 1. Tweak something and generate again, you get Frame 2. One of them is the , the one that represents the shot in the timeline and in every downstream view. You can pick the Active Frame from the frame strip beneath the shot’s hero image. You can add new frames by generating again with different direction. You can discard frames you don’t want. This is the same principle as Create’s pinned references. You generate options, then you decide. The shot keeps its identity. The frame is one expression of it.When the time comes to move into Dailies (to turn shots into video takes), the Active Frame is what gets handed forward.
